Entrepreneurship and the Family Business
Description:
In this workshop you will identify sources of advantages and disadvantages for your family business. You will learn how you can develop strategies to capitalize on strengths within your family business, and how to minimize or overcome potential sources of weakness or problems within your family business. The workshop will examine strategies to deal with issues including communication, succession planning, entitlement, and leadership.
Presenter Information:
Ted Clark
Ted Clark received his MBA from Clark University, in Worcester, and holds an undergraduate degree from the University of Southern Maine. He teaches Entrepreneurship and has taught in the College's Coop MBA, High-Tech MBA program and has also taught at Clark Universityís Graduate School of Management and Fisher College. In addition to having been involved with the family business on Cape Cod, Professor Clark has been involved with a number of start-up companies and has held positions in marketing, sales, product management and product development.
He has experience in the Internet and unregulated energy industries, and as an independent consultant, he specialized in business-to-business strategy development and marketing and has worked with clients in software development, medical billing, financial services.
