Social entrepreneurship brings private capital and business skills to support the development of "micro-enterprises" that allow the world's poorest people to secure a better future for their families and communities. Professor Shaughnessy will talk about the 2006 Nobel Peace Prize Award given to Dr. Muhammad Yunus and the Grameen Bank, one of the earliest "social entrepreneurs" and a pioneer of microfinance. He will also show a short video documentary that chronicles a student program in the Meheba refugee camp in Central Africa, built upon microfinance and entrepreneurial education.
