Jay Laird, Moderator

Metaversal Studios, Lead Game Designer
Jay Laird is the founder and Lead Game Designer of Metaversal Studios, a Boston-based company specializing in educational and social game design for print and online. His work has included game development for Boston College, The Boston Globe, Shockwave.com (a division of MTV), the New England Aquarium, Northeastern University's College of Engineering (under a grant from the National Science Foundation), and MIT. He is also a screenwriter and comic book author, with credits including the Roger Corman produced film "The Strangler's Wife" and "Star Wars Tales" from Dark Horse Comics. He has been teaching programming, animation, and game design at Northeastern University since January, 2000.
 
Kent Quirk
CogniToy
Kent Quirk is a software architect, game designer and entrepreneur. His areas of expertise include experimental user interface design, software engineering, computer game development, and programming languages. With 25 years of software development experience, he has been working in the areas of computer games and educational software since the mid-1990s. As the founder and CTO of CogniToy, he led the development of the acclaimed robot programming game MindRover. From 2003-2006, he was the software architect of Cosmic Blobs, which is 3D graphics software for kids (and a later version aimed at professionals) developed and published by SolidWorks.
   
Scott Triola
Blue Fang Games
As COO, Scott is responsible for supporting Blue Fang Games in the areas of business strategy, contract negotiations, finance, marketing and public relations. In addition, Scott acts as the primary liaison with the publisher's marketing and PR team. Prior to joining Blue Fang Games, Scott worked as a Brand Manager at Atari where he launched and managed products on PC and console gaming platforms. In his role, Scott also managed relationships with leading entertainment companies including DreamWorks, Hasbro, Six Flags and Intel. Prior to joining Atari, Scott worked as a Consultant for The Boston Consulting Group, a leading international strategy and general management consulting firm. Scott holds a MBA from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and a BA in Business Economics and Psychology from Brown University.
   
Michael Enright
Turbine, Inc.
Michael Enright joined Turbine in September, 2005 and serves as vice president of technology and project management. Mr. Enright has over twenty years of experience leading the development of high performance business and consumer technology products. At Turbine he is responsible for the engineering of our client and server game platforms, back-end business systems, and the project management organization overseeing the successful development, integration, and delivery of our products in support of Turbine's retail games and online services, as well as for our international partners' retail and online services. Before joining Turbine, Mr. Enright was President of Hamilton Technology Advisors. In prior roles Mr. Enright served as CTO of Harvard Business School Interactive, and as CTO of CMGI's MyWay Internet portal.
